Terms of use

Draft for legal review — not yet in force. Last updated: August 2026.

The short version: your files are yours, you're responsible for what you store and share, and the service is young — some safety nets are still being built.

1. Who we are

The service is provided by ID of Life Ltd, Keilaranta 1, 02150 Espoo, Finland (Business ID 3593234-2). These terms govern your use of the ID of Life web service.

2. Your account

You register with a username, email address and password. Keep your password safe: a self-service password reset does not exist yet, and we cannot recover it for you automatically. You are responsible for activity under your account, including API keys you create.

3. Your content

Files you upload remain yours. We claim no rights to them beyond what is technically necessary to store, replicate and deliver them at your request. You must hold the rights to the content you store and share, and you may not use the service for unlawful content.

4. Deletion is final

Today the service has no wastebasket. When you delete a file or a file version and confirm the deletion, it cannot be restored. Plan accordingly until a restore feature ships.

5. Sharing

Public download links can be opened by anyone who has the URL until they expire or you revoke them. You decide who receives a link and through which channel. Personal shares grant the rights you select (viewer or editor) until you revoke them.

6. Fees

The service is currently free of charge; no payment method is collected. Paid plans (Standard and Plus, as published on the front page) will be introduced later. Continued use will never be converted into a paid subscription without your explicit consent.

7. Availability and changes

The service is under active development. Features on the published roadmap may arrive, change or be delayed. We aim for continuous availability but do not yet commit to a service level.

8. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy. Your files are stored on infrastructure operated in Europe.

9. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time; contact info@idof.life to have your account and files removed. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, and will say why.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
